Suspect in singer's death found hanged
MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn.(AP)- A man suspected of killing an aspiring
country singer from Stevens Point (Wis) and another woman has been
found hanged in his jail cell in Tennessee.
Glenn Issac Goins was being held at a state prison in Mountain City
(Tenn). He was charged in Kentucky seven years ago with the
strangulation slaying of 20-year-old Melissa Januskevicius.
She was on her way home to Stevens Point from Nashville, where she had
recorded a C-D and was waiting for a Greyhound bus. Her body was found
in a lot near the bus station.
Goins was found hanged with a bed sheet when they conducted a cell
block check yesterday at the Northeast Correctional Complex.
Goins was also facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of a
24-year-old Amanda Wood, who was choked to death. Her body was found in
January 2004 wrapped in plastic under the home of Goins' mother in
Tennessee.
