Word has now come forth that Tomiko Itooka,
born May 23rd 1908,died December 29th 2024,
as the Guinness-recognized world's oldest person.

Just as Sarah Knauss (born September 24th 1880)
died December 30th 1999,survival into yet another
new year was barely missed, though this time the
news travelled more slowly.(My lists never assume
survival past a verified date).

A Brazilian said to be born later in 1908 is
now claimed to be the oldest living but I'm
waiting on confirmations as the records are
less solid there.

Note that I am the originator of the GRG website's
coverage of supercentenarians, and the people who
have supplanted me there have methodology in which
I lack confidence without providing me with documentary
cites, which they withhold for political reasons.
