My west-coast-state travels are limited to the 1983 wedding of a
second cousin in San Francisco;
the 1984 and 1996 World Science Fiction Conventions in Anaheim,
and the 1993 one in San Francisco;
a 1991 or 1992 visit to Los Angeles while I was the day-to-day
manager of the CompuServe Showbiz Forum;
and a 2004 Amtrak trip to Las Vegas,Nevada (to lecture on my
supercentenarian research at an anti-aging conference) that
involved getting off at a freight-train crew-change yard
in Needles,California for a bus ride after the train had
gone through Las Vegas,New Mexico (you could buy a ticket to
either Las Vegas but only the non-casino version had a train
stop).

It should be noted here that he succeeded the late Prince Philip,
Duke of Edinburgh,as the oldest living,but failed to surpass
him as the oldest-ever,descendant of King Christian IX of
Denmark(1818-1906).
