The February issue of Classic Images, in the obituary section, says
that Beverly Michaels, unforgettable in the title role of 1953's
"Wicked Woman", died of a stroke last June in Phoenix, Arizona. This
is news to me. Anyone have a link to a primary source?

Funny this should come up. I watched "East Side, West Side" yesterday
-- a film I had never seen before -- and Beverly Michaels played the
"Amazonian" woman in the film who ends up being the murderess (she's
quite butch!). The filim has an unbelievably good cast. But I wondered
if she was still alive and went to imdb which said she died last June
as reported above at age 78. She would be the almost the last member
of the cast to die -- Stanwyck, Mason, Heflin, Conrad, Frawley,
Gardner -- with only Cyd Charisse still alive.

I can't find anything and I don't have an Arizona Republic
account that lets me search archives.

Was Beverly Michaels her stage name? If so, the obit may
be under another name....since she hadn't performed for
52 years.

Film editor Christopher Rouse's IMDB entry indicates that he is the
son of Beverly and writer-director Russell Rouse, so perhaps Rouse
would have been her last name?

I'm fairly certain this all originated here:

As far as I know no one else tracked down the family to solicit more
details for a real obit. There is indeed no corresponding SSDI entry
under either Michaels or Rouse (yet).

-- Well, I found this link that includes a poster who says they wrote
an obit on her. Sounds like they're pretty certain about her death.

For whatever it's worth, IMDb also says she died of a stroke last
June:
