If Joe Damagio got hits in 56 consecutive games, wouldn't he have had
at least a 56-game on base streak?

I'm moderately sure that that streak actually went to 74 games; he had a
walk in the hit-streak-ending game.

Precisely. So, why isn't he included on this list?

I can't help myself.

Not to be confused with Mr. Coffee, Joe DiMaggio.

I was going to ask the same question.

True. He just wasn't on the list ('Game Notes') info.
You have to have a (Cardinals) "Press Pass."

For all 30 MLB teams, pick one!

The list Roy posted was not a list of the CGOB streak ... It was a list of
batters who started their streaks on the *first day of the season*.

Here is the list Roy thought he was posting:

No, it was from the 'Game(day) Notes' each team releases to the
media, and now available to everybody online. The list I showed wasn't
meant to be comprehensive, it was for the Cardinals team, so it had the
obvious slant on listing mostly Cardinals who had a 50-game streak
previously.

Yes, Bill. I'm aware of 2001 w/regards to Pujols' (longest) 48-game
streak.
BTW, my info on the [Cardinals] streaks were from the MLB 'Press
Pass" releases, as I mentioned above, plus Williams in '48 at the start of
the season, a la Pujols as 'Game Notes' mentioned.
And Joe D. is mentioned in the on-base streak as another poster
noted, he must have had a W in the game he got stopped in his 56-game hit
streak, but the on-base streak survived to 74; topped only by Ted W. in '49.
