An amazing rescue.

This happen near my house. I know one of the kids (Ben) and they are so
lucky to be alive. There is also a video in the link.

Glad the help came!
This was an act of God. They were buried for hours in a 20 foot high snow
bank. The plow was a large front end loader. I've seen pictures of the snow
bank and like I said it was an act of God. It was even on the NBC nightly
news.

These emails came from my minister yesterday. Ben and his family go to my
church. I can't imagine what they went through.

Penny and Dennis are Ben's parents. Sally is our minister.

1. We need your prayers for Ben Worster and his friend Chris Sterns. They
have not been seen since 3:30 this afternoon. A search in underway for them
as you read this. Please continue your prayers for these youngsters who are
out in this cold and snow and for their family. We will keep you posted.

2. Good news. The boys have just been found and are on the way to Maine
Med. They were stuck in a snow bank and are suffering from hypothermia.
Penny Worster and Sally are going into the hospital. Please continue to pray
that the boys will suffer no ill effects from this ordeal.

3. Both Ben and Chris are now being warmed up slowly at Maine Med. They
have been checked out and everything looks okay. They may be kept overnight
for observation.

Apparently they were digging a snow cave in the banking at Our Lady when a
plow working on the parking lot buried them. They were unable to reach their
cell phones to call for help and both lost consciousness. Chris' family
noticed his snow shovel was missing and a friend told the searchers where
they usually built their caves. They searched the area and found Ben and
then later Chris.

Please continue to pray for the boys and the families and give thanks for
the searchers the wonderful outcome.

This is why we have a Church Family, it multiplies the power of prayer.

4.Got this wonderful message from Dennis Worster this morning.

The power of prayer!!!

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Good morning,
Early, I know but haven't been able to sleep. Ben was kept overnight for
observation and they hadn't decided on Chris yet when I left to take Becca
home
at 1 am. Penny stayed the night with Ben. Will call or email when I find
out more. Am going to try to get my driveway cleaned up as my shop foreman
needs to come down to get my truck so they can plow out the shop. Thank you
so much for the prayers, Sally, you being there for Penny last night while I
was with the searchers and coming to the hospital last night for Ben and
Chris. Thank you for the dry socks but still haven't warmed up. Thank Bill
Tracey again for driving you, Penny and Becca to the hospital last night.
God was with Ben and Chris.
Words can't express my thanks,
Dennis

That's asking a bit much. Could I pray that they suffer just enough
ill effect to maximize the educational value of the experience?

I think they've already had that much. Losing conciousness and then
being hospitalized for hypothermia is pretty memorable.

Thank you for the extra info Mark - I'd been wondering how anyone
found them. I supposed you increase the chance of a miracle when you
get in trouble on church property? ;-)

Saying that being unconcious is pretty memorable is a pretty large
exaggeration, don't you think?

Have you ever lost conciousness? obviously you don't remember being
unconcious, but the feeling of getting faint and woozy can be quite
memorable (speaking from experience.)

They knew they were building a survival cave and Ben's mother knew where
they were going. They found thier tracks and started digging. They called
their cell phones but the snow muffled the ring tone.

My daughter was comatose for over six months. Even though she died in that state, did she learn a lesson? We won't find out in this life.

Just to make clear, I am *not* the person who wrote the above - JD is.
I just quoted it when replying to him.

The only thing they did wrong was not hear the plow. Snow caves are a
method of survival in a northern climate. I believe these two are Boy Scouts
and they were just practicing for their overnight hike.
