He personified the blend of technical enthusiasm and counterculture values that
shaped the industry, launching the West Coast Computer Faire in the 1970s.
Remembered by me as founding "Haphazard Editor" of
Doctor Dobb's Journal of Computer Calisthenics and Orthodontia.
(His first successor Tom Williams was promoted on the masthead
from "Associate Editor" to "Actual Editor" before the
"Haphazard" title was retired with Warren).
The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
