A two-vehicle wreck on Thursday claimed the life of a Smiths Station
woman, and left another person injured, according to Alabama State
Troopers. Sydne Conder, 59, was killed when the 1994 Chevrolet Metro
she was driving collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Corvette. Conder, who
was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was
pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Metro was transported
to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. The crash occurred on
U.S. Highway 431, approximately four miles north of Phenix City at the
120 mile marker.

"When they arrived on the scene, they found a female driver dead and a male
passenger seriously injured. The man was carried to Columbus Midtown Medical
Center in an ambulance..."

Also:

"Authorities do not believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash, Harris
said..."

And so it goes.

And so it goes.
