Is that the reason he forgot his heart when he left San Francisco ? Sorry; it was just laying there,

For the record, my British-born mother (born in Worcestershire) died from complications of Alzheimer's; we once-removed relatives and friends need the humour as a defense mechanism.

The disease must have gotten worse. He has cancelled his future touring
dates.

I thought his "final tour" he just finished was supposed to be the
last already.

Parx casino near Philadelphia mentioned an upcoming Bennett appearance
during a radio spot heard last night. Their web site has him scheduled to
appear on October 22 as part of the I Left My Heart Tour...but it's shown
as canceled.

Or it's the worsening COVID situation. His recent performing dates with Lady Gaga at
Radio City Music Hall apparently went well, although Tony stuck close to the piano
rather than moving around. Of course that could have been due to his age as much as
to Alzheimer's.

I've often wondered why he didn't retire years ago. His singing ability is hardly
even a shadow of what it once was, but nostalgia is a strong audience motivator.

I saw a story in the Washington Post (I think) a year or two ago about
him. The reporter had tried to interview him, but his wife did all the
talking while he just sat there and smiled. He could still sing, and
he still knew all the songs. Now it seems that even the songs are
gone.

What I read was that he basically couldn't handle travel any more
though he can still perform.
