She was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2008.

She was the dean of Doğuş University's Faculty of Art and Design. She died in Istanbul.

Btw, the Hans Christian Andersen Awards began in the 1950s. (The Awards for Illustration began ten years later.) However, there were no finalists from Turkey until 2000. Whereas, an artist from Iran won the HCAA in 1974.

The next awards will be presented in 2020.
