Mimi Hinds, 93, singer & Phil Ford's bride, 91

While the name Mimi Hinds sure SOUNDED familiar once she sadly was added
to the Wikipedia notable-deaths roster, it's embarrassing that I
couldn't place her name somewhere in the 1960s...UNTIL I read that she
was half of that longtime married act, Mimi Hinds & Phil Ford.

Sure regret not tuning into "The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson"
that night Hinds dressed up as The Peacock Network peacock--quite
LITERALLY "In Living Color on NBC" !

Sorry for the sloppy headline; Hines was 91 at her death in Las Vegas on
Monday, not 93.

Oh, and a closer re-reading of her Wiki write-up suggests her
peacock-costumed turn on "Tonight" may have been PRIOR to Carson's
reign--which as most late-night-TV fans remember didn't begin until
Monday, October 1, 1962...so it might have been during the Jack Paar
years that she did the peacock thing.
