Singer, Wife and 4 Others Killed in Missouri Crash

WILLIAMSBURG, Mo., June 20

Ira Lonnie Louvin, a country-music singer; his
wife and four other persons were killed early
today in a head-on collision of two cars in north
central Missouri.

Mr. Louvin sang with his brother Charley as the
Louvin Brothers in the Grand Ole Opry in
Nashville from 1955 through 1963.

The 41-year-old singer from Hennegar, Ala.,
died at the scene one mile east of Williamsburg.
His wife, Anne Florence Louvin, 38, who sang
professionally as Anne Young, died on the way
to a hospital.

The other dead were Billy Barksdale of Fort
Payne, Ala.; Tommy Franklin, 53, of St. Louis,
and Adele T. Barksdale, 29.
