He was the Warden in Runaway Train who Jon Voight handcuffed to the
train. Also played Christopher Kraft or somebody based on Kraft in
The Right Stuff; gave the speech introducing the Mercury Seven at the
Press Conference.

...bit of a spoiler there, O'Connor. But Ryan did have quite a few
memorably tough lines in that one. My favourite: "God, don't kill 'em.
Let me do it." Ryan also had an all-time classic as the Los Angeles cop
tracking down Richard Gere in BREATHLESS: "Don't f-u-c-k with the
L-A-P-D!"...

Instantly recognizable (at least by me):

Concerning a movie which came out over 20 years ago, I don't know if
spoilers apply. I sure hope I don't spoil the movie Ghostbusters for
anybody if I mention the forty foot high Marshmallow Man.

I remember him for his bit part in White Sands and in Hoffa. A superb
character actor.

Loved his comedic turn as Vernon in 'The Escape Artist' which also featured
a great performance by the late Raul Julia.
